ZC Rubber Aims for Carbon Neutrality
Major tire manufacturer ZC Rubber — the leader in China and ninth largest in the world — aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The company, known for its Westlake and Goodride brands, is actively investing in eco-friendly technologies, production, and recycling to improve resource efficiency at all stages.
ZC Rubber makes sustainable development a part of all business processes, responding to the challenges of resource constraints and environmental requirements. The key direction is the principle of a circular economy, covering the entire cycle: from raw materials to recycling.
Over the past 20 years, the company has expanded its recycling facilities, collecting and sorting used tires, returning materials — steel, rubber, and carbon — to the recycling cycle. By 2030, tire recycling is expected to increase by approximately 190%. As of the end of 2025, more than 344,000 tons of tires have been recycled. Tire regeneration, especially for commercial vehicles, allows for the repeated use of sidewalls, significantly reducing material costs and environmental footprint.
