A bio-based butadiene production plant has been opened on the Michelin site

In partnership with IFPEN and Axens, Michelin has launched a demonstration plant for the production of bio-sourced butadiene in France. The facility is located at Michelin's site in Bassens, near Bordeaux. 

The project's objective is to develop and commercialize butadiene derived from plant-based biomass using ethanol, as a substitute for butadiene produced in the petrochemical industry.
