Yokohama has developed a tire wear monitoring technology using sensor wave forms

Yokohama Rubber has announced the development of a technology that determines the wear state of passenger car tires by analyzing signals transmitted using a patented signal processing technology from a sensor attached to the inner surface of the tire, which is being developed in collaboration with Alps Alpine Co.

The technology enables the timely notification of the vehicle owner or fleet manager of the need to rotate or replace worn tires, ensuring more optimal tire maintenance, which contributes to improved safety and extended tire life.
