Yokohama Rubber has become the supplier of original equipment tires for the BMW M2 — a compact sports coupe, whose new version was presented in April of this year, the Japanese company's press service reported.

The BMW M2 is equipped with Yokohama ADVAN Sport V107 tires of the Ultra-High Performance class, which were modified jointly with BMW M specialists and feature a tread pattern optimized to reduce external noise during acceleration and improve handling. In addition, the concave profile (Mound Profile technology) provides even distribution of pressure in the contact patch, which positively affects the driving qualities on dry pavement and the durability of the tread, and the tires have also received the highest "A" rating for traction on wet roads according to the European classification, and a special material is used in the manufacture of the carcass, which helps to provide optimal controllability at high speeds.

On the M2, the tires are installed in sizes 275/35ZR19 at the front and 285/30ZR20 at the rear.

Yokohama is currently implementing a three-year development plan YX2026 (Yokohama Transformation 2026), which implies, among other things, an increase in the share of high-value-added tires in the turnover structure, as a result of which the company, in particular, seeks to increase supplies of tires from the flagship ADVAN line and the Geolandar family (which includes tires for SUVs and pickups) to automakers.
