Yokohama Tires for Long Haul Trucks

The Japanese company Yokohama has introduced two new tires for long-haul tractors in Russia - Yokohama 106ZS and Yokohama 107ZL. These are tires designed for installation on the steering axle. Both novelties meet the company's recently announced Z.environment concept, aimed at maximizing the reduction of rolling resistance and, as a consequence, the harmful impact on the environment, as well as increasing the service life.
The manufacturer notes that the Yokohama 106ZS is designed to provide a longer service life due to the use of a unique Stress-Wear Control-lamellation system (SC-lamellation). This technology prevents uneven wear of the tire tread.
Another feature of this tire is the improved rubber compound, which, in combination with the tread pattern, reduces rolling resistance and reduces fuel consumption. The six large longitudinal ribs are designed to provide stability while driving, and the deep grooves minimize the risk of aquaplaning on wet roads. In addition, these grooves have a wavy relief, which allows for self-cleaning of the tread from stones that get into it.
As for the second novelty - Yokohama 107ZL, - this tire is equipped with six thousand lamellas, which provide maximum grip with the road surface. They also allow to avoid uneven wear of the tread. The development of this tire also used the Z.environment technology, so this novelty also has reduced rolling resistance, which means it saves fuel consumption while driving.
The fight against stone jamming inside the tread is carried out by special stone-ejecting spikes. In other respects, these models are similar. Yokohama 107ZL also has SC-lamellation, a wavy relief of the drainage grooves, as well as a similar composition of the tread rubber compound.
Yokohama 106ZS for the front axle are available in sizes 385/55 R 22.5 and 385/65 R22.5, and Yokohama 107ZL for the steering axle - in sizes 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5.
