Yokohama is preparing for the AXCR 2024 rally
Yokohama Rubber announced that it will supply its off-road tires Geolandar M/T G003 to the Mitsubishi Ralliart and Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia teams during the upcoming Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) — the largest rally-raid in Asia — which will take place from August 11 to 17 in Thailand (initially planned to pass through Malaysia, but the organizers changed their plans due to the unstable situation in southern Thailand).
Mitsubishi Ralliart belongs to TANT Sports (Thailand), and Mitsubishi Motors is the technical partner. In 2022, the team's crew won the ACXR, and the first to cross the finish line was the Triton pickup truck equipped with Yokohama tires. In 2023, a high result was also shown (3rd place), and this year four new Triton will start, which will participate in the modified vehicles class (Group T1).

In turn, Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia rose to first place last year, so this time they will defend their champion title. In 2024, team members will drive three Toyota Fortruner SUVs, popular in the Asian market, and one of the participants will be, for example, Ikuo Hanawa, who Yokohama calls one of the best Japanese off-road racing specialists.

Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires are designed to provide high cross-country ability in any off-road conditions, as well as maximum durability under extreme loads. Previously, tires from the Geolandar family have already shown themselves well in numerous races around the world, such as the King of the Hammers (KOH).

The AXCR rally, first held in 1996, is officially sanctioned by the FIA, like the "Dakar", and in recent years participants have competed on several routes that started in Thailand and then passed through other countries in Southeast Asia in a variety of conditions, from mountains and jungles to beaches and even racing tracks. In 2024, the race will start in Suratthani and finish approximately 2100 km away in Kanchanaburi.
"Yokohama Rubber considers participation in motorsports to be of great importance for further strengthening the ADVAN and Geolandar brands, so the company continues to participate in competitions of various levels, from regional to global," the tire company noted.
