Westlake became a partner of the China Drift Grand Prix
Tyre brand Westlake Tyre has become an official partner of the Chinese drift series China Drift Grand Prix (CDGP), which should allow the manufacturer to "gain new knowledge about market requirements and technological trends and develop tires that even better meet the expectations of motorsport participants".
Westlake is the main sub-brand of the Chinese company ZC Rubber, and previously, tires of this brand have already been successfully used in various major drift competitions, such as D1GP China and the UK and European championships.
In ZC, they say that "in motorsport, tires are subject to extremely high requirements", and "Westlake Sport RS tires have already attracted the attention of pilots due to their excellent characteristics and unique design". The tires have an asymmetric tread pattern with large blocks, which, in combination with a special rubber compound, increases traction, while the continuous central rib improves stability at high speeds.
"The cooperation between Westlake and CDGP will not only make the competition more exciting, but also open a new chapter in the history of the tire brand's participation in motorsport," the company noted. "The new partnership will also contribute to the growth of drift popularity in China, the emergence of new technological innovations, and the sustainable development of the entire motorsport industry".
