Wanli to build a plant in Malaysia

Chinese company Wanli Tire intends to build a tire plant in the Malaysian state of Selangor, reported Ng Sze Han, a member of the state's executive council for investment and trade, noting that the planned investment is estimated at 1.37 billion ringgit (335 million dollars), and the project capacity of the enterprise will be 6.2 million tires per year.

The plant is expected to be built in the Hulu Selangor district and will create around 1,350 new jobs. The plant will be a joint venture between Trusmax Investment and Alam Baiduri, which are subsidiaries of Wanli and Berjaya Property, respectively.

For Wanli, the new plant will be the company's second production site outside of China, and in early 2026, the company launched the first phase of the enterprise in Cambodia. To implement the project in Malaysia, the company intends to go public and raise 2 billion yuan (300 million dollars). In addition, Wanli plans to expand its plants in Cambodia and Cunhua (China), as well as modernize its research center.
