Wanli Expands Capacity

Wanli Expands Capacity

Wanli Tire has decided to increase the production capacity of its plant in Guangzhou (Guangdong Province, China), which is already capable of producing 30 million passenger car tires per year and is considered one of the largest in the global tire industry.

The new investments, the size of which is not specified, will allow the company to increase its capacity by an additional 6 million passenger car tires per year, which is expected to "further strengthen the company's competitive advantages in the high-quality tire market for passenger cars".

Wanli emphasizes that the project is aimed not only at increasing capacity but also at improving product quality, and plans to introduce new equipment and high-precision processes at all stages of tire production.

As part of the plant expansion, 550 new employees will be hired, bringing the total number to 2,750 people, and the company says it intends to continue supporting high production rates: the plant currently operates four shifts, approximately 340 days a year, in order to fulfill orders on time.

Chinese media notes that "currently, the local tire industry is undergoing a process of accelerated decommissioning of outdated facilities and switching to the production of high-quality products, and Wanli Tire's large-scale investments in equipment modernization and production expansion demonstrate the company's confidence in future market demand". It is expected that the launch of the new phase of the project, the third in a row, will help Wanli optimize its product range and increase its market share in both the Chinese and international passenger tire markets.
