Volvo and partners create a new company to develop a calibration system for TPMS

Volvo, the technology firm Qamcom and inventor Roman Iustin have created a new startup company called Fyrqom, which will be responsible for developing an automated calibration system for tire pressure monitoring systems in heavy-duty trucks. Iustin will serve as the company's CEO.

Starting in 2024, European legislation will require all trucks and trailers to be equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). Currently, these TPMS systems must be calibrated manually on each truck during assembly or when the tires are replaced. However, Iustin, a Volvo engineer, has a new idea to simplify this process by developing an automated calibration system.
