"Voltair-Prom" has upgraded the legendary VL-5 tire for the "Niva"
JSC "Voltyr-Prom" announced that it "continues to improve its products, striving to preserve the best traditions of domestic tire manufacturing and adapt proven, time-tested models to meet the requirements of modern operating conditions." This time, the legendary VL-5 tire in size 175/80-16 for the VAZ 2121 "Niva" has been updated and will now come equipped with a new pneumatic inner tube.
"The model was developed at the Volga Tire Plant in parallel with the development of the 'Niva' vehicle itself and has remained one of the most recognizable and sought-after tire models for this famous off-road vehicle for many years," the company says. "VL-5 tires have covered enormous distances on Niva vehicles, participating in numerous rallies, conquering off-road terrain, and traveling practically around the entire world. This model rightfully symbolizes reliability, off-road capability, and the distinctive charisma of the legendary domestic SUV."

For a long time, the tire was fitted with a 6.95-16 inner tube with an LK-35-16.5 valve. Now it has been replaced by the UK-16-1 inner tube, which features a narrower LK-35-11.7 valve. According to the manufacturer, this change improves the tire's compatibility with all types of rims, especially those designed for narrower valves. As a result, installation becomes more convenient, since previously it was sometimes necessary to replace the tube/valve or modify the rim.
"JSC Voltyr-Prom remains committed to proven models, maintaining their ease of use. Updating the VL-5 tire and tube assembly is another step toward ensuring that this legendary 'Niva' tire remains relevant and in demand under modern conditions," the company emphasizes.
