In Sterlitamak, the quality of synthetic rubber has been improved

Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant (SNHZ), part of the Roskhim holding, announced that it has carried out technical re-equipment of synthetic rubber production. The investments amounted to 740 million rubles, of which 525 million rubles were provided by the federal Industry Development Fund (FRI) as a soft loan under the "Component Products" program.

According to Oleg Shurupov, Executive Director of SNHZ JSC, the enterprise is currently "focusing efforts on modernizing production and developing new products, as well as selectively increasing capacities and reducing energy costs", and the investments have made it possible to reduce production costs and improve the quality characteristics of rubber.

It is reported that the plant used the salt coagulation technology, which was developed in the last century and has not changed significantly since the launch of the workshop in 1960. Thanks to the loan from the FRI, a modern latex coagulation and rubber separation line was purchased and installed. The new fully automated line uses the salt-free coagulation technology, and the modernization made it possible, among other things, to reduce the volume of wastewater by five times.

The packaging process was also automated: a robot manipulator removes rubber briquettes from the conveyor belt and packs them into containers, which are transported by forklifts to the finished product warehouse.

The capacity of the new line is 48 thousand tons of rubber per year, and the enterprise emphasizes that almost exclusively Russian raw materials are used for the production of products, and the localization degree is 99%.
