In the USA, 640 Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV tires have been recalled
In the USA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Centropneus SRL (Centropneus) is recalling 640 Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires due to a minor noncompliance with sidewall labeling. The defective tires, size 255/60R18 112V XL, are missing the required DOT certification symbol.
As a result, "these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139," the NHTSA's official document states, and adds: "Tires without the DOT symbol may be used in inappropriate conditions, increasing the risk of a crash."
