In Russia, the demand for large-sized tires has increased

Russian car owners have started buying larger diameter tires more frequently, and as analysts from the Moneyplace service reported, having studied data from Ozon, the Fit Service network of car services, and the "Honest Sign" labeling system, in March 2025, the number of replacements of 19-inch tires increased by 159%, and tires with diameters of 18 and 22 inches - by 140 and 100% respectively (the comparison was made with January 2024). The data of the study are presented by Izvestia.

As technical director of Fit Service, Nikita Rodionov, told us, in March 2025, the network's services performed almost twice as many tire mounting works in the crossover and minivan segments (95%), but the main share of the Russian fleet is still occupied by passenger cars.

Russian drivers spent over 242 million rubles on tires in March, and Moneyplace analyst Anastasia Romanova notes that Ozon's revenue in the summer tires and wheels category increased 1.5 times compared to February, and the most popular brands are Cordiant (two thousand sets sold per month), Sailun, Viatti, Pirelli, Centara (a brand of the Chinese company Zhongyi Rubber) and "Kama".

According to the data of the "Honest Sign", in the first quarter of this year, the import of passenger tires in Russia amounted to 9 million tires, which is 8% less than a year earlier, but at the same time, imported tires account for 46% of the total supply in the country. Mainly summer tires are supplied (92% of imports). The supply of all-season tires decreased by 10% to 201 thousand units, and their share in imports is 3%.
