In China, a new aircraft tire factory will be built
In the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Hohhot (Inner Mongolia, China), a new plant for the production of tires for civil aviation and special equipment will be built, according to local media.
The investment amount will be $170 million, construction is planned to begin in the third quarter of this year, and the work is expected to be completed in September 2026. The area of the enterprise will be 50,000 m2, and in addition to production lines for aviation and special tires, auxiliary facilities such as raw material warehouses, etc. will also be built.
The project is being implemented by Huangpu Tire (Inner Mongolia) Technology Co., Ltd., which notes that the new production will "not only contribute to the transformation and modernization of the tire industry in Inner Mongolia, but also give a new impetus to the region's economic development".
Last year, it was reported that the plant plans to produce 60,000 aircraft and retreaded tires, as well as 90,000 tires for special equipment.
