In China, the first test site for OTR tires has opened
In the city of Dunyin, Shandong Province (China), the construction of the country's first specialized tire testing ground has been completed. The project was implemented by the state-owned company First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. and is designed to fill the gap in the field of professional testing of OTR tires, which should "give a powerful impetus to the development of innovation and growth of the tire industry," Chinese media report.

The testing ground is designed for testing OTR tires of the main categories and includes tracks equipped with specialized equipment. At the first stage, sections for testing in difficult conditions, including on gravel and pebbles, were put into operation. In addition, tires are evaluated for durability when operating on compacted soil and concrete, and, furthermore, tracks with a low coefficient of friction were built, and tires can also be tested for such parameters as resistance to wear and tears.
It is noted that the construction of the testing ground for special tires will provide Chinese manufacturers with a convenient and efficient platform for testing tires in controlled conditions and will contribute to the improvement of tire product characteristics and technological modernization of the industry.
