In Cambodia, the first Wanli tire has been produced

On October 27, the new Wanli Tire factory (part of Guangzhou Industrial Control Group) released its first passenger car tire, which "marks an important stage in the development of the company's global business" and is expected to expand the Chinese manufacturer's capabilities for supplying foreign markets, as well as "allow customers around the world to receive more efficient products and services".

The factory in the city of Bavet, Svay Rieng province, has become the first production site of Guangzhou Industrial Control Group outside of China, with a projected capacity of 12 million passenger car tires per year. Construction began in January 2025, and Wanli notes that "many difficulties" were overcome as part of the project, including issues related to international cooperation. The first tire was produced just 288 days after the start of construction, which the company calls a new record for the industry.

In recent years, Wanli has been actively working to expand its production capacity and enter international markets. Thus, the annual production volume at the Cunghua factory (Guangzhou, China) has been increased from 15 to 30 million passenger car tires per year, making it one of the largest enterprises in this segment worldwide. In addition, in the first three quarters of 2025, sales of Wanli tires for passenger and commercial vehicles grew by 22.2% and 9.2%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2024, and the launch of the factory in Cambodia is expected to "significantly increase the company's production capacity and the competitiveness of Chinese tire brands in the global market".

As additional duties on Chinese tires are being introduced in many regions of the world, Chinese companies are investing significant funds in localizing production abroad, and only in Cambodia, in addition to Wanli, similar projects have been launched by Doublestar, General Science, Sailun, and ZODO.
