At Kama Tyres, they called not to treat Chinese tires in general <br />
According to expert estimates, tires from China occupy a third of the Russian market, and although there is an opinion that all of them have questionable characteristics, the situation is not so simple, and as noted by Timur Sharipov, Executive Director of the Trading House "Kama", whom cites RostovGazeta, "it would be incorrect to evaluate the quality of Chinese tires in general, since the Chinese market is very heterogeneous. It features both large manufacturers with a relatively stable level of technological and production culture, as well as lesser-known brands, whose products can differ significantly in their characteristics."
According to Sharipov, the important thing is that not all Chinese tires were initially designed with consideration for the specifics of Russian operating conditions, such as road surface conditions, temperature fluctuations, and seasonal loads.
"Therefore, when choosing, the key factor becomes not the country of origin, but the compliance of a specific model with operating conditions," he pointed out.
Sharipov noted that there is still a risk of buying tires imported through "gray" schemes, and it is essential to check products through the "Honest Sign" labeling system, as well as use official sales channels to guarantee quality and service support.
According to him, the most popular sizes of passenger tires last year were 175/65 R14, 185/65 R15, 175/70 R13, and 215/65 R16, i.e., high demand in the mass segment persists. At the same time, interest in tires with diameters from 18 inches is growing, which is associated with an increase in the popularity of crossovers and SUVs.
