The tire plant in Ulyanovsk, formerly owned by Bridgestone and now part of the Cordiant group, as well as renamed Gislaved, has successfully resumed operation, reports Interfax citing the holding's press service.

"The restart of the Ulyanovsk site begins with the production of a new summer model, which will be released under the Cordiant brand, - noted in the company. - In 2025, the plant's range will start to gradually expand, including with models of the premium brand Gislaved. The start of production of winter tires is planned for the first half of 2025. All standard tests and certifications necessary for the resumption of production have been completed, confirming the safety of the products and readiness to start sales".

Bridgestone stopped tire production in Russia in March 2022, in December 2023, the assets of the Japanese corporation in the country were sold to the S8 Capital holding, which in October 2024 resold them to the Severgroup company.

The Cordiant holding currently includes five tire plants in Ulyanovsk, Omsk, Yaroslavl and Kaluga, with a total design capacity of 15 million tires per year.
