Toyo celebrates its fifth consecutive win at the Baja 400

Thanks to Alan Ampudia's outstanding performance, Toyo Tires has marked another victory in the Baja 400 off-road race. This is the third consecutive win for the Japanese brand in the current World Desert Championship season and the fifth consecutive win in the Baja 400 since 2021. Additionally, two other Toyo partners, Jason McNeil and Gustavo Vildosola, won their respective classes, Trophy Truck Spec and Trophy Truck Legends, in this year's race. All drivers used Toyo Open Country M/T-R off-road tires.

In 2025, the Baja 400 route spanned 688 km, and Ampudia started second in the Trophy Truck class in Ensenada, Mexico, then battled for the lead throughout the day, eventually taking the top spot and winning the overall title with a finish time of 8 hours, 12 minutes, and 29 seconds.

"The competition was incredible from the start, and the race was very exciting, and we won for the third time this season," Ampudia noted. "Now we will try to finish the season perfectly at Baja 1000. Thanks to Toyo tires, our speeds were excellent throughout the day, and we knew we had everything we needed to achieve our goal."

Stan Chen, Toyo's senior motorsports manager in the US, added that "three consecutive wins are a phenomenal result, confirming the determination of our drivers, who always give their all. Our tires have once again demonstrated their high performance, and since Alan and Gustavo are having a perfect season, we are looking forward to an exciting finale at Baja 1000."

The Open Country M/T-R tires are specifically designed for off-road racing and are not legal for public roads. The special "racing" compound increases resistance to cuts, scratches, and other damage, while the large treads provide increased traction in mud, sand, and snow, and the aggressive tread pattern with hook-shaped blocks is also designed to improve off-road traction.
