In 2025, Toyo Tires will supply tires for Team Land Cruiser Toyota Auto Body, which will aim to win its 12th consecutive class victory, as well as for the hydrogen vehicle HySE-X2 of the HySE (Hydrogen Small mobility & Engine technology) research association and the Overdrive Racing team.

Both teams will be provided with tires from the Open Country family, which, according to Toyo, are distinguished by their durability and wear resistance, and are also made from eco-friendly materials, such as biobased butadiene and styrene-butadiene rubber, silica from rice husk ash, vegetable oil, recycled material sidewall, and carbon black from recycled tires and pyrolysis oil.

For TLC, Toyo Open Country M/TR tires will be supplied, specially created for the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport off-road vehicle, which the team will participate in the 2025 race. The company emphasizes that Open Country M/TR can improve vehicle handling and effectively resist wear in harsh conditions, such as rocky surfaces. The proportion of eco-materials in the production of tires was 55%.

In turn, Overdrive Racing will use Toyo Open Country M/TR SxS tires, which were also specially developed for the 2025 Dakar and received a modified tread pattern designed to improve handling characteristics on sandy dunes. In addition, the tires have become more durable and lighter, which increases acceleration efficiency and reduces fuel consumption, and the proportion of "green" raw materials was 60% of the tire mass.

The Dakar Rally has been held since 1978 and is considered one of the most challenging off-road races in the world with strongly varying weather and road conditions, and participants compete in both cold mountain regions and deserts under the scorching sun, and they need to choose their own route over two weeks. To win, you need to show the best time at the end of 12 special stages, and teams cover a total of almost 8,000 km.
