Toyo recalls over 500 off-road tires

Toyo Tires has started a recall on the American market of 567 off-road tires Toyo Open Country A/T III sizes 265/70 R18 and 265/60 R20, manufactured at the plant in Georgia (USA) between July 20 and 24, 2025. The company cites as the reason that due to an incorrect rubber mixing process, the tires have insufficient tread strength, which can lead to its separation and an accident. 

The defect was discovered after the company returned two 20-inch tires in December last year, which had torn tread fragments. An investigation was conducted, which showed that the problem was related to the properties of the rubber mixture, and the company decided to recall. According to the manufacturer's estimates, 4% of the tires from the recalled batch do not meet the standards. 

Last autumn, the Open Country A/T III was included in a batch of 37,000 recalled tires, and at that time the reason was a decrease in the adhesion of the breaker with other components of the tire, and the defective products were also manufactured at the plant in Georgia.
