Tolyatti-based LLC "Zavod stalykh koles" (Steel Wheel Plant), which is already one of the largest Russian manufacturers of stamped disks, has increased its capacity for producing wheels for passenger and light commercial vehicles, with the new production lines being the first in Russia to be suitable for manufacturing disks with a diameter of 18 to 19 inches.

Investments in the project exceeded half a billion rubles, with 337 million provided by the federal Industry Development Fund as a preferential loan under the "Component products" program, according to the FRP press service.

Previously, ZSK produced disks with a diameter of 13-16 inches, and the new investments allowed the plant to increase its capacity from 1.5 to 3.5 million wheels per year.

"Thanks to the FRP, we carried out a large-scale modernization of production, introduced modern automated lines with the use of robot manipulators, and significantly reduced the share of manual labor. This allowed us to increase the volume of production by 2.3 times and double the labor productivity in the stamping department," said Valery Shiyanov, director of the enterprise. "In addition, we expanded the size range - now the enterprise can produce new wheels for the company with a diameter of 16 to 19 inches in a volume of up to 1 million pieces per year."

It is noted that the products are sold through large retail networks, and the increase in capacity will allow ZSK to occupy up to half of the Russian market for stamped disks and "seriously squeeze out imports". In addition, the plant plans to undergo the nomination procedure and supply stamped disks to "AVTOVAZ" and other car manufacturers.

The company emphasizes that the disks are almost entirely made from domestic materials, with a localization degree of over 95%.
