Tatneft has withdrawn from the Butadiene project in Kazakhstan

According to the information of the Kazakhstan PetroCouncil, the Russian "Tatneft" has withdrawn from the "Butadiene" project worth about $1 billion, which planned to build a butadiene and its products production plant in the Atyrau region.

It is reported that initially, the project was launched in the format of a joint venture, 75% of which belonged to "Tatneft", and the rest to the Kazakh side.

Last December, the EPC contractor was to be determined, which would have marked the beginning of the active phase of the project's implementation, but due to the withdrawal of the strategic partner, the deadlines for its implementation may change, according to PetroCouncil.
