Sumitomo Rubber announces cooperation in TPMS system research

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is collaborating on a project to eliminate batteries in TPMS systems and similar devices by replacing them with electricity generated by the rotation of tires.

Reporting on the progress of the joint work with Professor Hiroshi Tani from Kansai University (Japan), the Falken brand manufacturer notes that the partners have successfully generated stable electricity over a wide range of speeds using two types of power generation devices.
