Sumitomo supplied tires for the Lexus GX550

Sumitomo Rubber Industries has announced that it has begun supplying tires for the Lexus GX550, a SUV that was launched in the Japanese market in April this year. 

The Lexus GX has been on sale since 2002, mainly in North America, and is popular for its combination of luxury and high comfort levels, including on uneven surfaces. The GX550 comes with Dunlop Grandtrek H/T31 highway tires, and Sumitomo notes that models from this family have been installed on Toyota crossovers and SUVs for many years.

The Grandtrek H/T31 tire, previously homologated for the Lexus LX700h, is designed to provide reliability and durability, as well as to improve the balance between acoustic comfort and fuel efficiency, while the proprietary Nano Black technology has made the color of the sidewall inscriptions more contrasting, "creating a sense of luxury".

On the Lexus GX550 version L, the tires are installed in the size 265/50 R22, and for the Overtrail+ model with enhanced off-road capabilities, Dunlop tires are supplied in the size 265/65 R18.
