A presentation of new off-road tires from Prinx Chengshan took place

Prinx Chengshan has celebrated the 5th anniversary of its North American division (Prinx Chengshan Tire North America, PCTNA) and introduced two new off-road tires: Prinx HiCountry AT2 and Fortune Tormenta AT2, according to Modern Tire Dealer.

PCTNA reported that over the past two years, the number of dealers offering tires under the Prinx and Fortune brands has increased from 11 to 54, and the product range of both brands is also "rapidly developing" due to the release of new models and the expansion of the size range of existing tires.

Both new off-road tires will be available in a larger number of sizes compared to the previous generation models in this segment, and the manufacturer also emphasizes that as part of the updated range, tires with different tread patterns will be offered under each brand, rather than exact copies with different sidewall markings.

According to Ken Coltrane, Vice President of Marketing at PCTNA, the new A/T class products will be available for order during the November SEMA 2024 show, and shipments to dealers in North America are expected to begin in February next year.

"The tires were designed with dealer requests in mind, who wanted a more aggressive tread and sidewall design for all-terrain tires," he said, adding that both new products will be produced in 41 sizes (both P-metric and LT), and 11 of them will be available with white sidewall letters. The tires have a 3PMSF rating, meaning they are certified for snow use, and the warranty mileage for both models is 80,000 km.

Regarding the reason why dealers will have to wait until February, Samuel Felberbaum, President of PCTNA, noted that molds for all sizes have not yet been made, and Coltrane added that each mold is tested separately before production starts. The tires will be produced at the company's plant in Thailand.

Michael Chu, CEO of PCTNA, during the presentation, spoke about the history of the Chinese company, which was founded in 1976 in Rongcheng. Initially, the company focused on the Asian market, where it collaborated with Cooper Tire, among others, and in 2016, it began its international expansion, and in 2019, PCTNA was established.

Prinx Chengshan currently has two tire plants in China and Thailand, as well as three research centers, while in 2023, the company's turnover was $1.4 billion. The enterprises are capable of producing up to 23 million passenger and 10 million commercial tires, as well as 500,000 tires for special equipment.

According to Chu, the company's tires are currently purchased by over 2,000 distributors worldwide, who sell the products in 169 countries.
