Bridgestone is revising its 2009 profit due to the consequences of the economic crisis. The Japanese company's expectations for net profit were not met. During the year, Bridgestone planned to receive more than 2.5 trillion yen from sales. The company's losses over the past year may amount to around 10 billion yen.

For comparison:
— in August 2009, the company's analysts assumed that sales for the year would reach 2.6 trillion yen, while net profit would be 6 billion yen.
