Scandinavian focus of the latest Continental winter tires

The company Continental introduced a new winter tire with a soft compound for those who drive in colder regions of Europe. This is the Continental VikingContact 8, and in its development, the tire manufacturer focused on "safe driving in harsh Scandinavian winter conditions, increased comfort, and reduced rolling resistance". 

The latter quality is particularly important given the active proliferation of electric vehicles in Scandinavian markets. According to Continental, the VikingContact 8 is "ideally suited for both conventional and electric vehicles, SUVs and hybrids".
