SIBUR has launched the serial production of a new brand of rubber <br />
At Nizhnekamskneftekhim (part of SIBUR), serial production of the DSSK-615V functionalized rubber developed by the company's specialists has begun. This rubber is produced by periodic solution copolymerization of butadiene and styrene.
The new rubber is suitable for the production of tread for winter and all-season passenger and commercial tires, and, as SIBUR claims, "together with the DSSK-620V, 621V, and 628V brands, it meets the industry's main needs for import-substituting materials with high performance properties".
The new brand of rubber was used in the production of winter tires Ikon Autograph Snow 3, which were tested on the ice of a frozen lake near Nizhnevartovsk, and it is reported that "the tires showed stability during acceleration, braking, maneuvering, and slalom, demonstrating characteristics comparable to the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 model, whose tread pattern and design they inherited".
SIBUR also notes that polar groups enhance the bond with the silica filler, increasing tire safety, fuel efficiency, and wear resistance; vinyl (30% share) improves traction in winter conditions and frost resistance; and styrene (15%) extends the tire life and makes them more durable.
"The use of the DSSK-615V brand in combination with the SKDL-710 brand produced by SIBUR in rubber compounds improves hysteresis and frost resistance, as well as processability," the company adds.
