Yokohama tires are approved for Lexus GX 550

Tires from Yokohama will be available as an option for buyers of the new luxury SUV Lexus GX 550, which was launched in the North American market in April 2024 and will be offered in Japan in the fall, the tire manufacturer's press service reported.

For the GX 550, Yokohama Geolandar X-CV highway tires were approved, which were specifically designed for high-performance crossovers and SUVs. Yokohama says that in recent years, tires for vehicles in this category have been subject to increasingly high requirements in terms of providing optimal maneuverability at high speeds, and the tires for the GX, based on the Geolandar X-CV version for the secondary market, were refined taking into account its features.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the tires for the new Lexus not only have significantly reduced rolling resistance, improving handling and comfort, but also have an increased level of reliability even when operated in the most severe off-road conditions. In addition, the "stylish sidewall design makes the tires an especially good option for luxury SUVs like the Lexus GX 550".

In North America and Japan, Yokohama tires will be supplied for the GX 550 in sizes 265/55 R20 113V and 265/55 R20 109V, respectively, meaning that in the first case, the tires will have increased load-carrying capacity. Earlier, Toyo Tires also reported the start of tire supplies for the Lexus GX.
