Pirelli tyres take podium places at Rally Poland

Three different cars on Pirelli Scorpion gravel tyres took podium places on Rally Poland, the final round of the European Rally Championship.

The Skoda Fabia of Mikolaj Marczyk beat the Hyundai i20 R5 of Tom Kristensson and the Ford Fiesta Rally2 of Ken Torn. Each driver maximised the benefits of the Pirelli Scorpion tyres.

Marczyk took the lead after Hyundai driver Nil Solans, also on Pirelli tyres, hit trouble on SS6, while Kristensson and Torn finished 13 seconds clear of the crew that finished fourth.

Pirelli said the highly variable road conditions in Poland had given the Scorpion tyres a serious test.
