Nexen tires are approved for Hyundai Staria
Nexen Tire has become the supplier of tires for the standard equipment of the Hyundai Staria minivan in electric and luxury versions, called Electric and Limousine respectively, the tire company reported.
In Nexen, they add that since the electric van has increased torque and body mass, the requirements for tire wear resistance also increase, while the tires for the luxury version must guarantee excellent ride quality and low noise level, and for both options, the Nexen Roadian CTX tires were homologated, which meet all these needs.
The Roadian CTX tires are designed for crossovers, SUVs, and minivans and can be used year-round in countries with a warm climate, and to increase the level of comfort, a system for predicting tire characteristics based on artificial intelligence was used. Nexen will equip the Staria in both South Korea and other global markets, such as Europe, Oceania, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

Nexen is currently following the One Tire approach, i.e., the same tires are supplied for vehicles with all types of powertrains, and in accordance with this strategy, the company provides tires for vehicles from Korean brands, including Hyundai Palisade, Nexo, and Ioniq 5, as well as from global brands, including Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. In addition, Nexen tires were previously approved for the Kia PV5, which, like the Staria, is built on Hyundai's customizable PBV platform.
"The supply of tires for the Staria confirms the effectiveness of our One Tire strategy, which allows us to equip both electric cars and vehicles with internal combustion engines with the same tires," Nexen said. "In the future, we will continue to closely cooperate with automakers and supply them with products optimized for use on all types of transport."
