Following Nexen, Kumho Tire has also announced that it has become a tire supplier for Kia's new electric minivan, the PV5, built on the e-GMPS platform and combining fast charging, which increases its suitability for long-distance travel, with a low floor and spacious space. In addition to the base passenger and cargo models, Kia also plans to release various other versions of the PV5, adapting them to customer needs.

Kumho will equip the PV5 with Crugen EV HP71 tires in the size 215/65 R16, specially designed for electric crossovers, SUVs, and pickups, and the company will supply tires for vehicles sold in various markets, including Korea and Europe.

According to the manufacturer, since Crugen EV HP71 is designed for electric vehicles, the developers focused on aspects such as reduced rolling resistance, high load capacity, reduced noise, and quick response to driver actions when used in powerful vehicles.

"The market for modular platform vehicles is expanding as they are not just a means of transportation, but can be adapted to the needs and lifestyle of end-users," said Kim In-soo, Kumho's executive director in charge of original equipment sales, adding that "we are very pleased to have become a tire supplier for the Kia PV5".

Kumho also supplies tires for many other Kia models, including the Tasman, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, and EV9, and in the future, "plans to continue to expand its partnership with the company to enhance customer satisfaction".
