Hankook tires are approved for Xiaomi YU7

For the original equipment of the Xiaomi YU7, the first electric crossover from the Chinese brand, Hankook iON evo SUV tires with a diameter of 19 and 20 inches were approved, which were specifically designed for electric vehicles and optimized for use on crossovers and SUVs.

The tires for the YU7 were developed in conjunction with Xiaomi, and the manufacturer notes that due to their balanced characteristics, they are able to provide optimal traction, handling, and braking efficiency in various road conditions, while the design was refined taking into account the high torque of the electric vehicle, and increased requirements for acoustic comfort were also considered.

Since the Xiaomi YU7 also has a high mass due to the presence of a battery, the Hankook engineers increased the load capacity of the tires and ensured even pressure distribution in the contact area with the road, while to improve stability at high speeds, the breaker belt was reinforced with aramid fibers, and the exclusive rubber compound, as reported, guarantees high grip on both dry and wet roads. The production uses low-temperature vulcanization technology, which improves the uniformity of the rubber compound, resulting in a 6% increase in energy efficiency and a 15% increase in resource.

Hankook notes that the homologation of tires for the YU7 is a very important event, as the company is currently actively expanding its cooperation with premium automotive brands in China, the world's largest electric vehicle market, and is also strengthening its leadership in the electric vehicle tire segment.

In the past, Hankook became the first company to create a full-fledged line of tires for electric vehicles (iON), and now supplies tires for key electric models from BYD, the world leader in this sector. In addition, Hankook is constantly developing partnership relations with other Chinese electric vehicle brands, such as Denza, Leapmotor, and Seres.

For the Xiaomi YU7, approved Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires with a diameter of 21 inches were also approved.
