Hankook tires have been approved for the Lucid Gravity crossover

Hankook Tire will supply all-season tires for the original equipment of the electric Lucid Gravity crossover on the North American market, the tire manufacturer's press service reported.

Lucid Gravity was first shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show two years ago and is the second fully electric model from the American brand. The full-size three-row crossover has a power output of up to 828 horsepower and a range of over 700 km. Hankook iON evo AS SUV tires, which were specially created for electric crossovers and developed in collaboration with Lucid Motors, have passed homologation.

According to the manufacturer, the tires are made from a new generation compound with high-performance polymers, silica, and environmentally friendly materials that increase the tire's resource while also enhancing traction in various weather conditions. Additionally, the tire's stiffness has been adjusted to withstand the increased weight of battery-powered vehicles, and the tread pattern has been designed, among other things, to prevent uneven wear.

Hankook has also conducted extensive research to improve noise reduction, and the number and size of tread blocks have been optimized to minimize noise and reduce rolling resistance. The company emphasizes that the new tread pattern increases energy efficiency, including when driving in a sporty style.

The iON line, the first tire family on the market specifically designed for electric vehicles, was introduced in 2022 and now includes summer, all-season, and winter models available in a total of 240 sizes for rims with diameters from 16 to 22 inches. In the original equipment segment, tires are supplied for vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT and Q4 e-tron, BMW i4, Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Kia EV3 and EV9, Tesla Model Y and Model 3, BYD Song Max and Yuan.
