Hankook tires approved for BMW iX3
For the BMW iX3, which became the first model of the Neue Klasse electric line, Hankook iON evo SUV tires were approved, which were specifically designed for electric crossovers and SUVs. The tires for the iX3 were created in close collaboration with the automaker, and thanks to the patented iON Innovative Technology platform, four key parameters were improved: acoustic comfort, wear resistance, traction, and energy efficiency.
Due to the addition of a reinforcing layer made of hybrid material with aramid fiber content to the design, stability was increased, including when cornering at high speeds, while the optimized width of the longitudinal and transverse grooves accelerated water drainage, and the latest compound, specially developed for EV tires, made it possible to increase traction and reduce braking distances on wet roads.

According to the manufacturer, the iON evo SUV is capable of reducing cabin noise by 18% and increasing energy efficiency by 6%, while the rubber compound with silicon dioxide and environmentally friendly materials in combination with an optimal profile increased the tire life by 15%.
Hankook also supplies tires for the electric i4 Gran Coupe and iX, and the supply of tires for the iX3, as the company says, "significantly strengthens our position as a key partner in the context of the electrification of the BMW model range".
The companies have been cooperating since 2011, when the supply of tires for Mini brand cars began, and over the past time, in addition to this, tires for BMW X1, X3, and X5 crossovers, as well as the flagship seventh-series sedan, have been homologated. The BMW M division is also a partner of the Korean manufacturer, which has approved the company's tires for such models as the X3 M, X4 M, and M5, "thus cementing the premium status of the global Hankook brand". In addition, Hankook has been the exclusive tire supplier for the BMW Driving Center driving school in Korea for 12 years.
