Goodyear tires are approved for Audi Q6 e-tron
Tires Goodyear have been approved for the factory equipment of the new electric crossover Audi Q6 e-tron, for which both summer and winter tires of the American brand have been homologated, with particular attention paid to reducing noise, the tire manufacturer's press service reported.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 summer tires and Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ SUV winter tires in sizes with a rim diameter from 18 to 21 inches have passed homologation, and during the design and testing, the engineers of the tire company closely collaborated with Audi specialists. In particular, it was necessary to meet the requirements for the maximum level of external noise, which, in accordance with the UN Reg 51.03 directive, was reduced from 70 to 68 dB(A), as a result of which the Goodyear developers modified the tread pattern and tire design.
The Q6 e-tron became the first Audi model, where the rear tires in all configurations are wider than the front ones, and at Goodyear, they say that special tires were developed for each axis, which made it possible to improve handling and resistance to lateral drift.
"Our cooperation with Audi is important in that it strengthens the trust in us as a company that can develop tires adapted to the individual characteristics of new cars," noted Alexander Sharis, Senior Technical Manager at Goodyear. "During development, we closely collaborated with the Audi team, including optimizing the shoulder area, which made it possible to ensure exceptional tire stability."
Earlier, Audi had already chosen Goodyear products for other electric vehicles, such as the e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT, and for the Q6 e-tron, tires are supplied in the following sizes:
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3
Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ SUV
235/60 R19
255/55 R19
