Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tires will be available in 233 sizes
In 2025, the summer tires Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in the UHP category will be released in 42 new sizes, after which their total number will grow to 233, and the tires will be available in the widest size range in the company's history.
Tires in new sizes will have a diameter from 18 to 23 inches (19 inches or more in 93% of sizes), and the company says that the decision on which tire sizes to produce was made taking into account the growing popularity in Europe of crossovers and electric cars, which are equipped with large diameter wheels.
New sizes are designed to be installed on a wide range of vehicles, including electric ones, such as the Volvo EX90, Audi Q7 and Q8 e-tron, Range Rover Sport, Tesla Model Y, and Polestar 4, and the company emphasizes that the tires are optimally suited for use on electric vehicles, as they have reduced rolling resistance and reduced noise.
The expansion of the size range will be carried out in stages, and 27 new sizes will go on sale in the first half of the year, and the rest in the second half. In more than 50% of sizes, the tires will be made using SoundComfort (an additional sound-absorbing layer improves acoustic comfort) and SealTech (tires can self-seal punctures up to 5 mm in diameter) technologies.
The manufacturer adds that due to the high load-carrying capacity, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 are a good option for owners of crossovers and electric vehicles, while the optimized tread pattern has allowed to reduce the noise by 1 dB(A) compared to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. In addition, thanks to the Dry Stability Plus technology, the tires can adapt to the road surface, providing reliable traction, and the special rubber compound improves the performance on wet roads.
Since its premiere in 2021, the tires have won several victories in European tests, and, for example, became the best in the tests of the Auto Bild magazine, which for two years in a row awarded them the status of Eco-Meister for helping car owners save money.
"Thanks to the success of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, we can expand our market coverage and make them available in sizes for an even greater number of premium vehicles," said Sonja Leneve, Director of Marketing for the European consumer tire division of Goodyear. "In Europe, the demand for crossovers and electric vehicles continues to grow, and we are proud to offer a wide range of Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, ensuring the needs of owners of the most diverse vehicles are met."
