Tires Enso TX1B have been officially approved by LEVC (London EV Company), a manufacturer of electric vehicles owned by the Chinese company Geely, as replacement tires for electric taxi fleets and taxi drivers in the UK.

Enso TX1B were specifically designed for LEVC's London taxis, and the company emphasizes that these are the first tires on the secondary market with an "A" rating for fuel efficiency and wet grip according to the EU labeling system, created with the characteristics of electric taxis in mind. Currently, the tires have already been installed on more than 1,000 taxis in London, and the reduced rolling resistance and increased mileage allow taxi fleets to reduce costs and increase revenue per kilometer. In addition, Enso TX1B are also optimized to reduce emissions of particulate matter PM 2.5 and PM 10 (sized up to 2.5 and 10 microns, respectively) into the air, which helps reduce air pollution. According to Enso, in London alone, more than 9,000 tons of particulate matter are emitted into the environment every year.

“Enso was created to solve one simple problem: how to equip as many vehicles as possible with low-emission tires as quickly as possible,” said Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, founder and CEO of the company. “Our respect for the important role that taxi drivers play in ensuring the mobility of our cities' residents is confirmed by the fact that we started our work with cooperation with them, helping them get tires with improved characteristics and save money, while reducing their impact on the environment. Now that Enso tires have received official approval from LEVC, we are happy to support the taxi industry for thousands of miles to come”.

LEVC Technical Director Chris Mccoy added that Enso TX1B tires were tested in accordance with the automaker's strict requirements and were officially approved as replacement tires for LEVC TX zero-emission taxis.

“The test results in controlled conditions, including handling, stability, ride comfort, and noise, as well as real-world tests, showed that the specially designed tires for electric vehicles are well-suited for the TX, which was also confirmed by independent experts in vehicle dynamics,” he said, emphasizing that for optimal operation of taxis, it is recommended to always use manufacturer-approved tires.

Now Enso TX18 tires are available for purchase through LEVC distribution channels, as well as from wholesalers, independent retailers, service networks, and the Enso website.

Currently, Enso does not have its own production, and the tires are produced, for example, by the Algerian company Iris Tyres, and in the future, the company plans to build a plant in the USA.
