The original equipment of the mid-size electric crossover Polestar 3 included 21-inch Continental SportContact 7 tires, which, according to the manufacturer, combine a high level of grip with economy and acoustic comfort.

The SportContact 7 tires are designed specifically for powerful sports cars with electric and traditional powertrains and are optimized to improve handling and stability at high speeds. Compared to the previous generation of tires, braking properties on wet and dry surfaces have been improved by 8 and 6%, respectively, and the resource has increased by 17%, and the company adds that the SportContact 7 also has low rolling resistance, increasing the range of electric vehicles.

Not so long ago, the SportContact 7 participated in tests by the German magazine Sportauto, which tested various wide tires of the UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) class in sizes 275/35 R19 and 285/30 R20 using the BMW M4. According to the test results, the Continental tires took first place, and the experts noted that they provide high steering sensitivity and reduce braking distances.

For the Polestar 3, tires of sizes 265/45 R21 and 295/40 R21 with a reinforced construction (XL) were homologated, which can be used at speeds up to 270 km/h (index W). In the first size, the SportContact 7 is made using the ContiSilent technology and is equipped with a sound-absorbing insert that reduces noise levels, and in both sizes, the tires have the POL marking, confirming that they were designed for Polestar.
