Last year, Hankook announced that it would introduce its Laufenn second-line brand to the original equipment segment, and previously, Laufenn S Fit 2 tires had been approved for the Skoda Octavia, and now they have also passed homologation for the Volkswagen Golf - the brand's best-selling model, with total sales of over 37 million units worldwide.

Tires for the eighth-generation Golf were developed by Hankook in close collaboration with Volkswagen to optimally match the vehicle's characteristics, and the manufacturer claims that the homologated tires provide stable handling in various conditions, and the partnership with the German concern "confirms the company's technological leadership in the OE sector".

Laufenn S Fit 2 was created as a versatile tire suitable for use in various climatic conditions and different driving styles, and compared to the first-generation model, both ride quality and fuel efficiency have been improved. In addition, Hankook claims that the rubber compound with a high concentration of silica in combination with the optimized tread block design has increased the braking efficiency on wet roads by 16%, which is also contributed by the four wide straight longitudinal grooves.

The internal structure has also been refined to ensure that the tires operate stably at high temperatures, while the new-generation compound has allowed for a 15% increase in tire life compared to the previous model.

For the Golf, the tires are supplied in two sizes with a rim diameter of 16 and 18 inches.
