Sainz: With new 18-inch Formula 1 tyres we will be able to achieve a lot

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz believes that with the new 18-inch Pirelli tires, drivers will be able to achieve much more than with the previous generation of tires.

Recently, drivers have been able to test the new 18-inch racing tires, installed on 2022 cars. 
 

"I've already spent three or four days with the new compounds and it seems like there's a pretty big step between the compounds - in recent years, for example, C2, C3 and C4 were very close to each other," says Carlos.

Sainz also noted that now there is potentially a big time difference between the compounds, which should add more interest to the races.
