Renault Grand Koleos is equipped with Nexen tires

Nexen Tire has become a supplier of 19-inch tires for the Renault Grand Koleos crossover, which is produced in Korea at the Renault-Geely (Renault Korea) joint venture and is a new version of the model known in Russia as the Geely Monjaro.

The Grand Koleos comes with Nexen Roadian GTX tires, which are specifically designed for crossovers and SUVs and are made from the latest generation of rubber compounds. According to Nexen, these compounds not only improve fuel efficiency but also increase durability and improve braking performance in various weather conditions.

The tread pattern of the Roadian GTX was developed using artificial intelligence and big data technologies, which has reduced noise levels and provides optimal stability, including at high speeds, the company adds.

Nexen began supplying tires for foreign brand vehicles in 2012, and now the Korean manufacturer's tires are installed on 118 car models under 28 brands worldwide. The company notes that the expansion of its presence in the original equipment sector has been made possible by continuous investments in scientific research, and AI and virtual reality technologies are now applied both during the development of new tires and during quality control of finished products. In 2022, a system for predicting tire characteristics using AI and big data was created, and in July 2024, Nexen became the first Korean tire company to use a driving simulator in the development process.

"By introducing an automated system based on artificial intelligence, we have improved the efficiency of quality control in production, and in the future, Nexen Tire plans to further strengthen its partnership with global automakers by developing tires using the latest technologies," the company said.
