Prometeon celebrates victory at the "Dakar"

Prometeon Tyre Group (PTG) celebrates a victory in the 2025 Dakar Rally thanks to the outstanding performance of Martin Macik Jr. in the truck category. The rally took place in the Arabian Desert from January 3 to 17 and included a 5,100 km route divided into 12 stages, a 48-hour stage, and a marathon stage where technical assistance was not available, with Prometeon providing the Prometeon S02 Rally tires, designed for the most extreme conditions.

As noted by the company, the tires proved their effectiveness on both sand and rocks, withstood all loads, and ultimately helped Macik Jr. to outperform all competitors, with the Czech winning 10 out of 12 stages.

The S02 Rally tires were developed by PTG's research and development department in close collaboration with Macik Jr.'s team, MM Technology, as well as using the experience gained by drivers from the Italtrans collective during their participation in the 2024 Dakar, when the team's founder, Claudio Bellina, used Prometeon tires.

"I'm over the moon, and this victory wouldn't have been possible without the support of our partners from Prometeon," Macik Jr. noted. "The S02 Rally tire that we developed together successfully withstood the harsh conditions of the Dakar and helped us take first place."

The tires, which made their debut at the Dakar this year, are part of the new Series 02 family and are made using technologies specifically developed for rallies. For example, reinforced sidewalls increase tire durability, the rubber compound is optimized to enhance traction across a wide range of temperatures and road conditions, and the tires are able to maintain their structural integrity in the most extreme off-road conditions.
