On November 18, in the Kedah Rubber City (KRC) industrial park, located in the Malaysian state of Kedah, a solemn ceremony of laying the first stone in the foundation of a new tire plant of the Chinese company Prinx Chengshan took place.

The project plans to invest a total of 2.6 billion ringgit (630 million dollars), and after the launch of the first stage, the plant will be able to produce 6 million passenger and 600,000 truck tires. The enterprise will create more than a thousand jobs, and the first batch of products is planned to be exported within the next year.

In Prinx Chengshan, they note that the start of construction of the plant is an important stage in the implementation of the strategy aimed at globalizing the company's business and producing products at sites in China, Thailand, and Malaysia. It is reported that due to the geographical advantages of Southeast Asia, the company will be able to strengthen its global supply chains, increase the competitiveness of its brands on the international level, and also "expand China-Malaysia industrial cooperation through intelligent and eco-friendly production".

Kedah Rubber City is the country's first industrial park created specifically for the placement of rubber industry enterprises, and the plant will be located 138 km from the port of Penang and 15 km from the border with Thailand. The company promises to actively develop cooperation with Malaysian suppliers of natural rubber, introduce new technologies, and conduct professional training for local specialists.

Prinx Chengshan was founded in 1976 and currently produces tires under such brands as Austone, Chengshan, Fortune, and Prinx.
