Featured are the first commercial Dunlop tires with white lettering

Sumitomo Rubber Industries announced that on March 1, 2025, in response to the growing popularity of minivan tuning on the Japanese market, it will start selling the first tires under the Dunlop brand with white sidewall letters in the country. 

The novelty called Dunlop W01 is designed to "make the exterior of minivans more stylish", which are in high demand in Japan as both personal and commercial vehicles, the company notes.

The profile and tread pattern have been optimized to improve stability under heavy loads and enhance traction on wet roads, while the sidewall deflection zone has been increased to prevent tilting when cornering. In addition, the through straight and zigzag grooves accelerate water drainage, reducing the risk of slipping in rainy weather.

Three sizes will be available: 195/80 R15LT, 215/65 R16C and 215/60 R17C.
