New "green" tires from ZODO Tire are presented

In recent years, one of the trends in the global tire industry has been the increase in the proportion of environmentally friendly materials in the volumes of raw materials used in tire production. Very recently, the Japanese announced the start of production of tires consisting of 55% "green" materials, and Bridgestone, and Chinese companies are also not standing aside, and the other day, a tire made using environmentally friendly raw materials was presented by ZODO Tire.

According to Tanhei, an innovative tire was presented, consisting of 30% eco-materials, and ZODO notes that its premiere is an important event for the industry in terms of environmental protection and sustainable development.

Three key environmentally friendly materials were used in the production of the tire, and, for example, silica, which allows improving traction and reducing rolling resistance, was made from rice husk ash, which is an agricultural waste. As ZODO says, rice husk is a renewable raw material that, due to its properties, is "ideal" for producing silica.

Rice bran oil, a by-product of rice processing, was also added to the rubber mixture of the new tires, which, according to ZODIO representatives, increases the strength of compounds with temperature changes and is an environmentally friendly alternative to petroleum-based oils.

Finally, the third type of eco-raw material was pine resin, which replaces traditional petroleum-based resins. It is noted that this material not only provides a high level of traction but also reduces rolling resistance, which further improves the environmental friendliness of the tires.

Currently, eco-tires have already passed tests for compliance with all industry standards, and the manufacturer emphasizes that in terms of their operational characteristics, they are comparable to standard products available on the market.
