The new Armstrong off-road tire is presented
Zafco Group Holdings has conducted its annual dealer conference in Dubai, where it presented a new off-road tire under the Armstrong brand, which the company acquired from Pirelli over a decade ago.
The novelty, called Armstrong Tru-Trac AT II, is the second generation of Armstrong tires in the All-Terrain segment and replaces the Tru-Trac AT model. According to Zafco, the tires are suitable for use on various types of surfaces, including challenging off-road conditions, and at the same time are able to provide improved ride smoothness on paved surfaces.
Armstrong Tru-Trac AT II tires feature a tread pattern with solid shoulder blocks that enhance stability in corners, and grooves of varying widths that improve off-road capability. Additionally, the tires have a reinforced sidewall construction, making them more durable and resilient.
The tires will be available in 30 sizes (28 of which will be released in the first and second quarters of 2025) with a rim diameter of 15 to 22 inches.
The Armstrong brand was acquired from Pirelli in 2012. In 2016, Zafco released a line of truck tires under the brand in North America, after which passenger car and SUV tires were added to the range. Pirelli acquired the brand in 1988 during the acquisition of Armstrong Rubber Co., and stopped using it in the late 1990s. Armstrong Rubber was founded in 1912 by George Armstrong in New Jersey, which means the brand has a history of over a hundred years.
Currently, Zafco does not have its own production, but last summer it was announced that the company intends to invest $92 million in the construction of a passenger and light truck tire plant in Pakistan.
