New UHP tire Toyo is introduced

Toyo Tires is introducing the new all-season UHP tire Toyo Proxes Sport A/S+ to the American market, designed for both passenger cars and crossovers/SUVs, and outperforming the previous generation model — Toyo Proxes Sport A/S — in terms of wet road traction, while maintaining the same level of performance on dry pavement.

The main difference of the novelty is the optimized composition of the rubber mixture, which, according to the manufacturer, simultaneously increases safety in rainy weather, reduces rolling resistance, and provides the longest possible tire life. In addition, in terms of size, the tires will have the HL (High Load) marking and increased load capacity, which will make them better suited for use on heavy vehicles, such as electric cars, hybrids, and large SUVs.

Toyo Proxes Sport A/S+ feature an asymmetric tread pattern — increased stiffness of the rib in the outer zone improves stability during turns, while the increased number of lamellas in the inner section reduces braking distances on wet and dry roads, as well as provides a certain level of traction on light snow. The tires also have a reinforced carcass construction with rigid sidewalls, high-strength bead fillers, and a bead filler with increased hardness, which improves handling sensitivity and uniformity of pressure in the contact area during acceleration, braking, and cornering. In addition, the sloping walls of the grooves increase the effectiveness of braking in various weather conditions, while the wavy lamellas prevent uneven wear, ensuring low noise throughout the life of the tire and improving driving quality on wet and dry pavement.

"The new tire has all the characteristics that drivers expect from an Ultra-High Performance product, and at the same time, it reliably functions throughout the year," said Kevin Arima, Senior Manager of Consumer Tire Division at Toyo in the USA. "Those who need tires for sporty driving but also with high durability will appreciate the advantages of the new model, and in addition, the wide range of sizes, including options with increased load capacity, taking into account the growing popularity of heavier vehicles, will also be an advantage for both dealers and end-users."

The new Toyo Proxes Sport A/S+ will be produced in 80 sizes with diameters from 17 to 22 inches and speed indices W, Y, and (Y), and the warranty mileage will be 80,000 km. The first sizes will be available starting from July, and additional sizes, including the first for Toyo with the HL marking, will go on sale in subsequent months. The tires are designed for vehicles such as the Ford Mustang and Mustang Mach-E, Nissan Z, Tesla Model 3, X, and Y, Toyota GR Supra, and others.
